We created South Yorkshire Money with a vision of having excellent, happy brokers there to assist our clients with a friendly but professional service.  We specialise in mortgages for clients with imperfect credit history or circumstances when a High Street lender cannot help. We cater for all kinds of enquiries though:  From first time buyers to later life borrowers and all in-between.

Danny Clayton - Director

Danny Clayton - Director

Danny has worked in the mortgage industry since 2009, he has experience in nearly all forms of advice having worked as a face to face advisor in a large national Estate agency role to working over the telephone on website and telephone based clients.  Although his experience is vast the area of the job he enjoys the most is helping clients with specialist needs and requirements and clients who maybe didn’t think they could get a mortgage. Looking for a way to work inline with his own beliefs Danny joined The Money Group and set up South Yorkshire Money LTD, with a view to having a company where targets are none existent, the vision is to have happy advisors, assisting clients where the client journey and experience is number one priority.

Dream job?  Well apart from owning my own mortgage brokerage I did always want to be a commercial pilot, I am a full on aviation geek.

Hobbies & interests:  I am sure me and Billy will get on as I am also an avid Sheffield United fan, although I am not as committed as Billy these days, due to my two teenage daughters, two dogs and a cat.  I do like to get out for a beer or two at the weekend though if I can.

What was your first car?  A white Ford Escort, well it was my Mum’s car really but it was my first taste of freedom.

Who would play you in a film?  Being a massive fan of the Sopranos I would love to say James Gandolfini but as he is unfortunately no longer with us I would have to go with Kevin James as apparently I look like him.

Last Holiday?  Spent a lovely two weeks in Crete, enjoying the sun, beer and Ouzo.

Amy Cory - Protection Adviser

Amy Cory - Protection Adviser

Amy has worked in the Financial Services Industry now for over 16 years, having experience in both Mortgage and Protection advice. Since 2008 she decided to specialise in protection only, as she felt this area of the industry was too often over looked from an advice point of view, and was as equally as important if not more, as it can offer financial security and help in the times of need and when clients are at their most vulnerable.

Why Did you make the move From Mortgage Advice to Protection Advice? When we buy our 1st house or forever homes, we don’t like to think of the worst, or ever losing the roof over our head, after all “we are all invincible right? And it will never happen to us”, but it does happen and circumstances can arise that are out of our control. I like to think that I help take away the Financial Stress and burden, so that people can focus their attention on their main priorities.

Favourite Quote? Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain. (I live by this quote)

Favourite thing to do? Family Time, with My 3 favourite Humans, My Husband, My Daughter and My Son.

How do you Relax? Once The clan are in bed, A Glass of Malbec and a good old True Crime Documentary.

Favourite Biscuit? I’m more of a Savoury person, can I just pick a sausage roll?

Who would play you in a film? I’d like to say Jennifer Aniston, but if you ask anyone else or My husband they would say Jane Danson (Leanne Battersby from Coronation Street) or Kellie Bright (Linda Carter from EastEnders), I get a lot of stick from my Family and Friends for being a cross between the two of them.

Favourite Place to Holiday? Florida every time, once the kids grow up and leave home, I will still be standing at the Disney Parades, waving like I need a life guard.

David Fearn – Mortgage and Protection Adviser

What do David’s clients say about him? I had tried many other sources to obtain a mortgage, but due to a historical blemish on my credit file plus my age and type of mortgage required, I had been unable to get a mortgage offer. David Fearn overcame all obstacles to provide a mortgage product that was both suitable for my needs and most competitive. David always answered my (many) questions quickly and provided an excellent service. I have and will continue recommending him to all. Richard A – Cumbria

Working with high street Banks as well as more specialist lenders, helping clients buy their first homes & forever homes including clients who are unable to obtain mortgage finance on the high street due to poor credit or short term self-employed for example.

I live with my partner, Helena of 20 years & her son Jack. We moved in together for the second time in August 2018. It's a long story!
